Eventbrite Fees UK 2026: What Organisers and Buyers Actually Pay
Eventbrite’s UK ticket fee, the VAT on top, who pays it, and worked examples for £5 to £50 tickets. Every figure checked on Eventbrite’s own UK help centre.
Short answer
Eventbrite charges UK organisers 6.95% + 59p per paid ticket, and that fee already includes card processing. By default the ticket buyer pays it at checkout, on top of your ticket price; if you choose to absorb it instead, it comes out of your payout. Eventbrite also adds 20% VAT to that fee unless you give it a verified VAT ID, so on a £20 ticket the buyer pays £1.98 in fees plus 40p VAT, £2.38 in all. On a £10 ticket the total is £1.54, and on a £50 ticket £4.88. Free tickets carry no fee, and publishing events is free. Donation tickets are charged 2% instead. Eventbrite Premium, an optional subscription for extra promotion, costs £59 a month or £588 a year and does not change the ticket fee. Eventbrite’s UK pricing page has been showing US dollar rates; the figures here come from Eventbrite’s UK help centre, checked on 17 October 2026.

The headline rate is simple; what catches organisers out is the VAT on the fee and the default that puts the whole cost on the buyer. The table works the fee through for common ticket prices, and the notes below explain each part of it.
Eventbrite’s UK fees, part by part
The ticket fee: 6.95% + 59p
Every paid ticket sold in the UK
One combined fee per sold ticket. Eventbrite’s fee table lists payment processing as “not applicable” for the UK because card processing is included in this rate, unlike the US, where a separate 2.9% processing fee applies.
VAT: 20% on top of the fee
Organisers without a verified VAT ID
Eventbrite must charge VAT on its service fee unless you enter a verified VAT ID, and the ID is set per event, not once for your account. If buyers pay the fee, they pay the VAT too; if you absorb the fee, the VAT also comes out of your payout.
Who pays: the buyer, unless you change it
Deciding your advertised price
Fees are passed to buyers by default and added at checkout. Ticking “Absorb fees” on a ticket type includes them in your price and deducts them from your payout. A change applies only to future orders.
Free events and donation tickets
Community and charity events
Publishing is free and free tickets carry no fee at all. Donation tickets are charged a 2% service fee rather than the per-ticket rate.
Eventbrite Premium: £59 a month (optional)
Organisers who want Eventbrite to promote them
£59 a month or £588 a year. It adds paid social promotion, a Premium badge, ad credits and more marketing emails; it does not reduce the ticket fee. The older Pro plans are closed to new subscribers.
Cwtch Events: 3% + 30p, Wales onlyThat’s us
Events in Wales, in Welsh and English
For comparison, our own fee: 3% + 30p per paid ticket with card payments included and no monthly fee, so 90p on a £20 ticket. We only list events in Wales. For the rest of the UK, see our comparison of Eventbrite alternatives.
